We are excited to feature a one-night group pop-up art exhibition featuring Claire Fischer. Inspired by her desire to explore her surroundings and attempt to see things for more than they’re worth, Claire Fischer presents a vibrant body of paintings that will undoubtedly bring a sense of life to 14th Street. The opening will take place that the gallery from 6:30 – 9:00 PM. Inspired by the book “The Corners of the Universe” Claire Fischer has been fascinated by exploring the corners of her own universe. Her work in figure and scene are recognizable but she tries to portray the sense of exploration through the use of color, and perhaps, somewhat abstract the world. After years of attempting self-satisfaction through realism, Fischer found herself drifting towards her undeniable attraction to color. Fischer says, “Though I may try and keep a specific theme or topic within my paintings, I find myself drawn by too many conflicting ideas, or passions.” Most of her paintings are derived from photographs taken during her time in Italy and other world travels. Others, however, were simply put together by nothing more than her appreciation for organic contour, and the freedom that comes with it.
